We Don't Just Build These Rigs. We Live In Them.

Honestly, a lot of overlanding shops will tell you they're "passionate about adventure." And maybe they are. But there's a difference between passionate about adventure and actually doing it — and I think most people can tell. For us, the rig, the equipment, they’re just tools. The real focus is exploration.

KP Pawley, Owner, Lead Shop Sweeper

I drove my truck and camper from Oregon to Argentina. Most of the modifications on that rig, I designed and built myself. When something broke in the middle of nowhere, I fixed it. When something held up through 10,000 miles of abuse, I noticed. That trip, and those that came after, are why Zero Declination exists.

Jared Simpson, Operations Manager, Diesel Devotee

When it came time to grow the shop, I knew exactly who I wanted. Jared Simpson has been wrenching on trucks and talking rigs for as long as I've known him — the kind of guy who will spend an hour in a parking lot explaining why your electrical layout is wrong and exactly how to fix it. He also backs it up. Jared and his wife Jenn circumnavigated Southern Africa in a diesel-converted Jeep. Not a vacation. Life. In a Jeep, in Africa.

Both of us still live full-time in our rigs. So when you ask us what works, we're answering from experience, not speculation.

How We Build

We're not chasing fast installs. When we wire an electrical system, we do it the way we'd want it done on our own rig — clean, serviceable, and built like it needs to work in the field at 2am. When we mount a camper, it's set up like it'll need to handle being strapped into a shipping container around the Darien Gap.

We also won't sell you something you don't need. If your current setup is working, we'll tell you that. If there's a smarter way to do what you're trying to do, we'll tell you that too. The goal is a rig you can actually count on — not an upsell.

The Shop

We're based in Reno, Nevada — good central location for anyone running routes through the Sierra, the Great Basin, or further out. We handle full builds, flatbed and tray installs, camper sales and setup, and electrical system upgrades — solar, lithium, shore power. If you've already got a rig and want to make it better, we do that too.

We're one of the few shops in the region with real depth on OEV's composite camper systems. We've built enough of them to know what each model is actually suited for — and what it isn't.
